The “Ioway Trail” is currently being developed to connect communities and rural areas with new and existing trails in the Iowa River Valley roughly between Iowa City/Coralville and Marshalltown. It’s expected that the South Tama Recreation Trail will one day be a part of the Ioway Trail system.
The Ioway Trail Project is coordinated by Iowa Valley Resource Conservation & Development (IVRC&D), a nonprofit regional development corporation. The IVRC&D is working to identify new and existing trails and coordinate efforts between city and county officials and project volunteers to create a continuous trail system.
